Who are we?
We are Jenna and Mark, a designer and pastry chef living in Brooklyn, NY and parents of two little girls. We are also owners of Whimsy & Spice, a Brooklyn confectionery. Sweet Fine Day is a visual record of business and family life in NYC and a journal of projects both in and out of the kitchen.
Sometimes it’s good to play tourist and get a new perspective on your city. I’m also trying to get a new perspective on this sudden change in my schedule – something I seem to have to do, oh every 6 months or so. Whatever life is, it’s never predictable.
Wow love the shots you took, I have such a love for NYC I always wanted to live there.
I fully support tourist days.
I live in a city country on an Island. My husband and I play tourist around the city very often : )

I often go for hikes in LA and look out at the city and am always like, “Wow. I live here!” Good to get a bird’s-eye view no matter where you live:)
It’s especially fun to play tourist with kids.

I feel the same way. It’s nice sometimes to do a touristy thing and get back that sense of “awe” about your own city. I always like when I’m driving back to Chicago from a trip and I get that first site of the city and buildings again. Always makes me remember what a cool place I live in!
I know people must say this all the time but I’ve been reading your blog for ages and omigosh your kids are really growing up! Thanks for the little peek into your life!
