airplanes, mountains, kittens and blackberries

I will never get tired of the mountain view from the airplane, heading into Washington state, ever. We are here.
Mark’s mom let a stray cat that had been hanging around for awhile into her home a few days ago. She then had kittens, 6 of them. They are a day old and the girls were so excited to see them. They decided to name them on the car ride down from the airport. So far we have Shadow, Shimmer (Mia’s choices) and Molly and Alice (Claudine’s name picks).
The girls made a beeline for the wild, rambling blackberry bushes growing in the side of the yard at Mark’s mom’s house in Olympia. Instant berry stained hands and faces. I’m sure there will be plenty of berry picking everyday.
Also, the kids were champion airplane travelers. So quiet and well behaved. The time difference did not seem to affect them – they went to sleep past midnight New York time. I think they were too excited to be here.
