It was raining. It was the only day this week, of course, that the weather was supposed to be windy, wet and cold, bookended by warm sunny days on either side. But who else gets to go on a fancy cruise ship around lower Manhattan, owned by one of Claudine’s classmate’s parents, as a field trip? Parents, teachers, nannies, grandparents and kids all danced to “Empire State of Mind” and the city in the background, no matter the weather, was magical.
Yes it is! and what a wonderful field trip. I imagine the kids were all so excited about the trip, especially if they have not been to the Statue of Liberty. Getting close by boat is a whole new experience for them.

Just want to let you know that after following your blog and eyeing your cookies for a while, I finally purchased one of each of your delicacies available at Dean & Deluca on a weekend trip to NYC this past weekend. So far I have tried the hazelnut whisky sandwich cookies, DELICIOUS!!!!!

I almost think rainy days like that end up being the most memorable. It becomes a kind of fun-taboo-crazy thing that your parents let you do. I bet Mia and Claudine will remember this day for longer than you think possible.
Or maybe it was just Claudine this day? Either way – very beautiful experience. 
Um, wow, these pictures are AWESOME! I always admire how consistent the color/white balance is among all of your photos, it really makes your blog and aesthetic cohesive. That’s one of the trickiest parts about photography for me. Best for last on the Statue of Liberty.
That song makes me buzz even though I’m in England. I can’t imagine how it would make me feel if I was actually treading the streets of the city with it blasting in my ears.
