What an extraordinary few weeks it’s been with the storm and the election. Our kitchen regained power earlier this week and it’s been non-stop for Mark as he tries to catch up with all the orders that had piled up during the storm. If you placed an order at this time, thank you so much for your patience. And another big thank you to everyone who has ordered a NY calendar for Sandy relief so far. The response has been tremendous and I’ve been struggling to keep up with the orders. We’ve already used some of the proceeds to buy supplies that were needed at a nearby evacuation shelter today.
This weekend we’re back at the markets. On Saturday we’ll be at the first ever DwellStudio Urban Tag Sale in Soho, and Sunday we’ll be back at Brooklyn Flea Smorgasburg in Dumbo.
If we find gas, that is.
Ya all heard about the gas shortage in NY, right? People have lined up for hours to get gas. Hell, I’ve even seen a long line of cars lining up near empty gas stations waiting for fuel tanks to arrive, at some unknown time, mind you. They’re just lining up! It’s getting worse. The mayor has issued gas rationing which goes by the last digit or letter of your license plate number, enforced by cops at the station. This is very reminiscent of the gas shortage lines of the late 70s, of which I remember distinctly even though I was just a kid.
We’re going through some crazy times, people, some crazy times.
