Walked around Ballard yesterday on a warm, sunny day, drinking coffee and eating Mexican food at Senor Moose. Pretty much the agenda every day so far, a different neighborhood a day. We sure are on a vacation diet, indulging in things we don’t normally get at home.
“Oh look, more coffee…do we need to drink more coffee? YES. YES we do.”
“A fruit croissant! And cake! We haven’t had cake in ages. Let’s throw in that key lime pie. Oh, and a strawberry cream puff!”
Yup, vacation food.
Beautiful! My sis lives on the street where Lucca is located. Such a lovely neighborhood!
It’s a very pretty street
I was in NYC all last week and was basically on the same vacation diet. New York food is so good. Just endlessly good. I went to Smorgasburg, too, but I think you guys were already on vacation at that point. I think I did return to Chicago with a few extra pounds, but, worth it.
Glad you ate well! Yes, we were gone at that point.Sorry to have missed you.
Ballard is a wonderful area. I like to start with an early walk at the gas works park. Then drive over to the locks for breakfast followed by a morning walking the shops in Ballard. And, of course if I can stretch the morning out long enough, there is lunch to be had. I am tickled that you are enjoying the area as well.
sounds like a nice routine, Tim. We haven’t walked around ballard in about 2 years – we try to hit up different neighborhoods every time we come.
Love seeing your annual Seattle pictures especially when I myself am not there.
My sister and I vacationed in Seattle/stayed in Ballard for 10 days once. Our experience was pretty much as you describe. We have fond memories of eating our way through that city.
We were in Ballard last weekend to vend at Viking Days at the Nordic Heritage Museum….your visit looks much tastier than ours. We always do the Holiday Inn breakfast buffet (we stay there); try to avoid festival food (because how many meatballs-pancakes-abelskevers do you want?) and then find a place for dinner that won’t make us sick. yea, we are fun to travel with….
aw, sounds like fun. We really do not eat out very much or get coffee and pastries back home because we stick to a pretty strict food budget, but you know how it goes when you’re on vacation. And I think it’s sounding like we’re eating out more than we actually are from the photos! We’re doing a fair amount of cooking and eating at home too.
You have to hit Cafe Besalu for the best pastries and quiche and coffee in Seattle, you won’t be disapointed!
Ah yes, we’ve been there quite a few times in years past.
Badly want a strawberry cream puff now you’ve mentioned it. Sounds like a lovely break…holidays are all about coffee!!! Enjoy
looks very delicious and wonderful!
