Yesterday was perhaps the best mother’s day in recent years. It was nice to be at the Flea with the sun shining (also gave all the food vendors something to think about as the sun could be potentially tricky for all the chocolate, cupcakes, cookies and marshmallows). At about 3:30 pm, my parents, my mother-in-law and the girls arrived along with the return of sunshine which had gone into hiding for a few chilly hours. Miss C had a ball running around the school yard of the Flea with her newly acquired skill of “running” (which is still a stiff, fast walk – but she is fast). As expected when there are grandparents around, Mia managed to successfully coax her way into 2 ice cream cones and a large cookie, giving her the most intense sugar rush and crash that she’s probably ever had in her life. Later that evening, back at the house, we had a huge sushi platter dinner, a nice clean palette cleanser from all that sugar. I hope everyone had a lovely mother’s day as well.
Happy belated Mother’s Day. You know what Jenna? A few weeks ago when i ate ALL of the cookies that i ordered from you guys i was feeling guilty! But guess what? I managed to lose 5 lbs this month!! So, i am happy to report, you can eat Whimsy and Spice cookies and still lose weight! 🙂
Claudine’s coat is darling! and the flea setup looks lovely, I’d be in so much trouble if I lived locally!
Jennifer:
I still have a biscotti and a couple of cookies left (I’ve been rationing them), and just started a diet so I’m glad to see you can eat them and still lose weight! 🙂
jennifer, that is funny. who knew?
Just thought you should know; my mom sent me an e-mail this morning with the subject line “BEST COOKIES EVER!” regarding the rose jam and black pepper thumbprint cookies I sent home with her! I think she was surprised at how much she liked them.
It was good to see you two and your ridiculously cute daughters! I witnessed Claudine “running” and it was so cute because she took it very seriously, you could tell she was really focused on every step.
wow Jennifer, that is quite a compliment. Lovely to meet your mother as well.
Your site is beautiful + so are your cookies! I hope to get to taste them someday 🙂
ps I adore your little one’s coat! Where did you get it? It would be precious for my niece.
frantic girl in last minute search for gifts before going to japan here. i have to say i made a good choice – the trip to the atm was definitely worth it and im glad i went back for more. it’s rare to find sweets with such unique blend in flavors, let alone in japan, so i thought i’d let you guys know that your sweets were a hit with my family! i’m definitely coming back for more… for myself this time
Sakiko, so nice to hear your family enjoyed it!
Amy, that cute kimono jacket was a present from an old, dear friend who lives in Amsterdam. She gave it to Mia and now Claudine is wearing it. I loved it so much that I put that jacket on Mia for 3 seasons even though she outgrew it and I suspect that I’ll do the same to Claudine.
