Really, there are no words for this other than the kids loved it of course. What we want to know is where do these people keep all this stuff the rest of the year and how much does it cost to light this up every evening for a month?
There are specific neighborhoods in NYC that are infamous for their crazy Christmas lights, usually anchored by one or 2 houses that are over the top. In Brooklyn there is Dyker Heights. In Queens, there is Bayside and that is where these photos were taken of 2 separate houses, a quick drive right after our sashimi extravaganza. It really was an evening of excess.
These photos are amazingly beautiful!
I heard that some people live for this! The only thing that they look forward to in their lives is to do this every Christmas.
Wow! I know of a few houses in San Francisco that are pretty over the top, but they don’t even begin to compare to this. Really, where DO they keep all that for the other 11 months of the year???
Wow! That’s pretty intense. My kids are raging that I didn’t put any lights outside the house this year but our neighbour took care of it for us.
that is insane lol i didn’t get a chance to go driving around this year but those are lovely photos
Oh, your photos make me wish for a cold, white Christmas. People do the OTT Christmas lights thing here too, but it always strikes me as odd to see lit-up snowmen and reindeer and fake snow when it’s steaming hot and everyone’s getting around in their swimmers and sandals. I’d love to spend a chilly, wintry Christmas in New York. One year maybe…
This is so intense! Although if I was still a kid I would love it as well! Great blog!
