Aside from the bizarre day yesterday, we’ve been having so much fun in Seattle. I feel happy here. I think I may have figured out why. I need to be by the ocean and perhaps that’s why Portland never truly felt like home, even with a river that ran through the city. I like the network of lakes, inlets, bays, islands and ferries. New York and Long Island is laid out in a similar manner, though with an entirely different feel. The water is not even something that I need to see, it’s something that I feel or sense, I think. It’s something that is comforting, that feels like home.

Lecia’s house happens to have a view of the water. There is a small strip of beach close to the house. Finally…a dramatic sunset.

Thanks again for all the well wishes. Mia seems to be responding well to medication and she’s bounced back, almost good as new, but man…was she ever pissed about being in the hospital. She made sure to tell me how pissed she was, all day today.

YIKES! Just read about your scare yesterday — thank goodness you were at Children’s. That’s the best ER for kids. Good care. Any idea what caused it? Sending hugs for both girls, brave in their own ways 🙂
I am so glad you are having fun on your trip & hotting all the hot spots too:) Love the fountain! And the beach scenes! And enough with these beautiful pictures…it’s all making me homesick!

I cannot get enough of your blog. Your photos. Your words. Your beautiful family. Lecia introduced me to you. She is a sweet soul…as are you. Thanks for sharing yourself here.

Prayers for continued speedy and full recovery!

You’re making me so homesick! So many memories of sitting at that fountain as a kid, a teenager, and an adult… And I agree, the ocean is the very best part about Seattle. Also, the mountains all around. When I was there last I kept saying, “where these here before??” because I always took them for granted.

I’m sure she’ll continue to tell you she’s pissed about the hospital. Who wants to be in a hospital when they can be looking at a view like that? Glad she’s doing better. Have a great trip!

I’m really glad Mia is feeling better and she’s strong enough to feel pissed ahah I love these photos, they’re so romantic and beautiful. I believe you when you say you miss the sea when it’s not around, I live in a small country so there’s water within short distance anywhere and I know I’d miss it
