This is what the sky looked like over Brooklyn this evening. The crazy and extreme lightning and hail storm that came out of nowhere last night violently tore the leaves off of trees. For the second time in a month, the weather really scared me. No trees came down, but our neighborhood looks trashed again – just piles and piles of leaves on the sidewalks, streets and parked cars. I swear if we have another storm there won’t be any leaves left on the trees and we won’t be enjoying those fall colors. The trees are starting to look bare already. What’s next in our extreme year of weather? I think we’re waiting for the locusts to arrive.
I’m trying really hard to get to sleep at a reasonable hour tonight. 2:30 am is getting really ridiculous when you have to get up at 7:30. My self imposed deadline of midnight has already passed, but I have a few minutes before I pass 12:30. I am really tired. The lack of sleep really catches up with me every 4 days or so. Right now, life has been all about the posters. I even upgraded my printer and spent most of the evening wrangling with the new one (because nothing is easy right out of the box). Suddenly our bedroom is a poster and print shop. Thank you, thank you (and yes…tea towels in limited quantities are coming in a few weeks, fingers crossed). I’m bracing myself for what is going to be a really difficult month of 3 work projects hitting at once. I might be working 15 hour days, 6-7 days a week for the next 2 months and I’m not even kidding. I just couldn’t say no when there are bills to pay. Plus the holidays. Oh man…the holidays, our crazy time. Is it really only a little more than 2 months away? OMG.
