Fridays with Claudine

January 9, 2011 |  Category:   life

Sounds like a weekly series doesn’t it? Maybe it will be. This is the last year we’ll have Claudine at home with us on any weekday while Mia’s in school. She doesn’t have school on Fridays so Mark and I trade off on taking the day off depending on work schedules. This Friday, we both had the day off. But Miss C’s a homebody! We had to coax and coax her out to play in the snow that was falling in big flakes all day. Most of it’s melted by now, but at least it did its job to cover up the old dirty snow that was leftover from the storm 2 weeks ago. Yes, it’s still around, in frozen piles now that will never go away and sanitation is still behind in picking up garbage so the city feels extra grimy.

In the end, we did coax her out for a walk across the street in the park. As much as we’re all tired of snow, the big, fluffy flakes sure were purty.

It’s always great to have one on one time with your parents/children. Claudine looks adorable, particularly in the photo with the snowball in hand. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m still jealous of your pretty snow – where I’m from half my state is under water, flooding and raining and it’s driving me batty.

    Love Claudine’s hat!

Wow, these are such beautiful pictures. Something about capturing the snow falling mid-air, it’s quite incredible. Hope you guys enjoyed your Friday together.

Hi Jenna — I’m a loyal reader, loving these beautiful pictures…I was actually wondering if you could tell me where you got the lovely light window treatments; I’m trying to do something similar for the nursery for our second, due in May.

We actually met once briefly at the Flea years ago, it’s been nice to watch you and your family grow! This blog is really a beautiful way to capture the ups and downs of everyday life…

    Hi Jeanie,
I got those curtains at Pottery Barn years ago. I think they still carry them though!

I just wanted to say that Claudine reminds me so much of myself when I was her age or younger. I had the same hairstyle, the same cheeks, similar eyes and the slightly moody/ off-in-the-distance look. And I was/ definitely still am a homebody!
