middle of summer already?

I guess this is what they call the dog days of summer. It’s nearing the end of July, a bit of humidity has appeared (but weirdly not the heat!), camp is over for Mia and we’re looking at long days ahead to fill the time with the girls. Not such a bad thing if we had more free time, but work schedules for both of us haven’t let up yet so we are struggling and juggling. I was also extremely busy with work last summer, but there was a definite slowdown in the business during July and August so there was better balance last year. We are on the verge of tackling some big projects around the house (more on that later) and just plain not dealing with others (our dishwasher is still broken and we are ignoring it at the moment, but it also means that we are hand washing which is not so great for my eczema). So we’re just plugging along wishing that the summer doesn’t escape us completely, but there are already early signs of Fall as stores have begun to carry cooler weather clothes and retailers are thinking ahead to Fall flavors and spices. Who else here wants the summer to slow down a little?

I have a lot of things on my mind, some of which I will write about and other things that I will spare you with. One thing, however, is that I’m feeling extremely lazy lately which seems like such a paradox with all the stuff that we have going on. I’m just gonna blame it on summer.

congrats to claudine! that’s a big step.
I’m dreading that with my llusion because my mother keeps reminding me how bad i was, apparently i refused to be potty trained and only did so once my younger brother was (and then he taught me).
summer just seems to be starting here, the heat has been hitting us since last week…
good luck with acomplishing everything on your very full plate.

I’ve been thinking about that too – how can it already be half over?

What a milestone for you all – go Claudine!

I’ve always found it hard to be productive in summer.

Congrats on the training! I am in the throws of training right now with my first and it is not fun. This is the second attempt. This time we got rid of all pull ups. Come hell or high water (or some other liquid. heh) I’m not giving up this time!!!!

Totally know how you feel Jenna. Why is it the more we have to do , the lazier we feel?

I completely relate to the lazy days of summer mode, and the oddly apathetic attitude I have, despite the long list of items that I need to do, and the piles of work waiting for me, and the endless ongoing household projects.

I love your honesty. I read you frequently, and never comment….so here I am.
And as much as I love the Fall, I plan to savor the last sweet weeks of summer.
