It’s what we did for half of our weekend after a hectic mad dash on Friday that actually left us no time to spend with Claudine on her actual birthday except for a quick dinner with my parents. We spent most of the weekend in Long Island, which is what we do when we need to escape from cookies, and opened presents Saturday morning. Miraculously, aside from being run down with occasional headaches, Mark and I were able to fight off being full blown sick, but the kids have been lethargic with on and off low grade fevers and napping a lot. It’s been a low-key weekend and we were even able to get away, sans kids, to see a movie (This Is It) late in the day Saturday. It’s funny that we have to schedule days off like this.
It’s Sunday afternoon. The kids are missing a birthday party because of sickness. Mark is back in the kitchen. The week already begins.
Hang in there Jenna and family! This is really the season of sickness. The only good thing about our kids being sick is… they spend all the time in bed. I took advantage and painted. whoo & hoo. Hope you all feel better soon. btw, I love the kiddie chopsticks and the cute mini “claudine” bag!

Saw your tweet (still haven’t broken down and made my own account) about not knowing about the Saveur mention until you happened upon it. I was curious, so I looked at the writer’s blog. She also mentioned you in September– http://www.saveur.com/article/Kitchen/Marshmallow-Madness. Maybe she’s shy.
Dinah,

Hope you’re all on the mend soon!
