With all the nuttiness of recent weeks, somehow Mark and I both forgot our anniversary. This would be our 6th, and we were reminded of the fact when we got 2 anniversary cards sent from Hawaii, the place we chose to get married. Mark’s mom, who grew up in Hawaii, is actually there now, staying with family and we are insanely jealous. Even M is jealous even though she has yet to visit, but our fondness for the islands seems to have rubbed off on her as evidenced by the fact that she routinely talks about “hukilaus” and sings “The Little Grass Shack” (the Annette Funicello version) absentmindedly as she goes about her day. Mark has amassed quite a record collection of cheesy Hawaiian recordings on vinyl and he’ll sit with the kids and play his grandmother’s ukulele. We haven’t been back to Hawaii since we got married there 6 years ago and well, we’re not sure when we’re going to go back, airplane ticket prices being as they are.
You may be surprised to know that even though we’ve been married “only” 6 years, we’ve known each other for 17 and have been together almost as long. Crazy, right?
Happy Anniversary! My husband and I just had our 6th anniversary on the 7th. He remembered, I forgot!! We were also married in Hawaii and we’re still here. 🙂
aw.what sweet pictures.. happy anniversary!!
Congratulations & happy anniversary!
you look gorgeous by the way!
Hey Jenna! We just got back from Hawaii — we try and get there as often as possible as we love it so much; as you can imagine, the flight with Jack (now a big 16-month-old) was a nightmare. Because we are insane we did the direct 10 hour flight from Newark. I’m currently trying to recover in a 12-step program.
It’s so funny, Scott and I may have a collection of cheesy Hawaiian music to rival yours…but lately we’ve mostly been listening to the slack key guitar stuff, which is so beautiful, and totally makes us think of the Big Island.
Congratulations on all of those years and happy anniversary!
omg those are pretty photos. 🙂
Beautiful photos–I love all the photos you post.
Congratulations!
