storm king again. in the summer.

Miraculously, the rain ended on the day we took our bi-annual Storm King field trip with our preschool. If Fall was all about the leaves and the wild autumnal colors, then late May is all about the rambling green hills, made more lush by the recent rain, I’m sure (most of these shots were taken from a moving tram). The thing that hit me most about our trip this time was the smell. It hit you, strongly, the minute you stepped out of the car. It smelled like freshly cut grass, like sun, like green, like summer.

(ps…the Storm King website I redesigned is now live. pps…it’s meant to be a “temp placeholder” site until a bigger redesign can properly be done.)

what an amazing park! I love the way the structures look like little toys until they dwarf 20 children and their parents. I would have loved this as a kid.

    your adventures look really fun!

    Hi,
I just wanted to suggest a fun place called Pepsico in Purchase, NY. It’s in Westchester and it’s not that hard to get to. I went to Purchase College, which is literally across the street from Pepsico, and I used to visit it all the time! It’s a gorgeous landscape with a large pond in the middle. There’s a fun trail to follow that leads to cool sculptures like the one at Storm King. I think Mia and Claudine would love it!

A bunch of us from Fuller Craft Museum are going on a 2-day excursion to NY & CT with rare opportunities to meet artists in the places where they live and work. 1st stopโ€”Storm King, this fabulous sculpture park in the Hudson River Valley! We’re thrilled.
