This was an actual conversation that happened at our house tonight:
Mark: “I’m going to open that pomegranate. The girls can bring it for lunch.”
Me (eyes glazed over, staring at a screen, lifeless): “whaaaa??”
Mark (slightly irritated, talking slowly): “You know…Pomegranate…You open it up…You eat the seeds.”
Stress and tension is running high in the house right now, for every single one of us. There’s lots of working, lots of deadlines, lots of coughing (SOoo much coughing), and lots of homework struggles. We’re all sort of miserable in our own little bubbles, fighting our own individual battles. And then outside our bubbles loom bigger things like the US government shutting down and Obamacare coming into effect today and what that might mean for people like us who buy private insurance and OMG it’s OCTOBER.
And there aren’t even any more Breaking Bad episodes to look forward to.
But enough with the complaining ’cause nobody likes complaining on the internet.
I declare that we’ll all get through this challenging month with a healthy dose of patience and a little bit of humor. Barbeque potato chips wouldn’t hurt either for stress eating binges. Add some coffee and ice cream to that list because I have a lot of work to do. I may not be around much as I dig my way out from under a mountain of stuff, we’ll see.
Yeah! Way to go America!
Take Care Jenna. I am sure it will work out. Just take a deep breath and work off the days and projects one by one. Sounds like a stupid cliché but it usually works. I hope it all works out for the best for you all and that October turns out a whole lot better than you expected.
…oh Jenna, let mew know if there is anything i can do to help.
you are helping enough as is, Annie! Thank you so much for helping Mark.
oh oh oh, kinda rings a bell…if it helps, I totally sympathize on each point (ice cream and coffee and coughing included). Yes you can overcome this month of October!
Yes we (all) can!
hang in there Miss Jenna!!! xoxo
just hang in there, this is life…the ups and the downs…happens to me all the time
