I was told by a family member who couldn’t come to the family reunion to “blog it up”, but it’s been nice to not have anything to do for a few days including “blogging it up”. Hope your holiday weekend was grand.

As a Virginia girl, a wonderful childhood feeling I remember was running ahead of my mom and getting to the top of the dunes to be able to see my future territory: days of conquering the beach!

We are new to Virginia and have looked at so many Outerbanks beach houses online with no luck at finding one we love. Would you mind sending the link to the house you rented and/or the company you worked with? It looks great.

Ditto to what Leah said. How far ahead did you book it? How was the drive?? We’re from NYC too.

  • Jenna June 3, 2011 at 9:39 am

Annie, it took between 10-12 hours to drive, depending on what route you take. I didn’t book the house – mark’s cousin did and we booked 2 houses in Avon in January or February since there were a lot of family members gathering. One house was on the beach and we were on the sound side. I think the realty company of the house we were in was called Surf or Sound. We have a family member in a wheelchair so our house was wheelchair accessible
