In reality, it still feels like summer. Even though the temps may be slightly down, we’re getting some crazy humidity from all the tropical storms and hurricanes down south. I’m just going to speak for all New Yorkers and say that we can’t wait till this current system lifts so that we can get back to the glorious September weather that we’re supposed to be having.
I was flipping through our vacation photos (I still have more posts of the Northwest to come!) and saw these set that I took one late summer evening right before we left for Seattle. It may not feel entirely like Fall yet, but the light is already changing. It’s getting darker earlier. Seeing the photos above, with that golden light you can only get in summer, I’m finding that I’m feeling both wistful about the ending of the season, but also really ready for Fall.
Today is the first day of school. We are still feeling lingering jetlag so we set the alarm this morning. There have been some changes in our building over the summer – some dear neighbors moving away and some older kids changing schools – so our usual communal walk to our public school with all our neighbors was a bit lonely this morning (these photos are from our last block party together). It’s a change. But September is the month of change and new beginnings, right?
