this too will not last

I know when the trees are bare and the weather turns cold for good (and the today did indeed feel like the season had finally taken its turn to more wintry temperatures) I’m going to miss these blissfully mild Fall days with its golden leaves. As dark as it gets early now (pitch black by 5pm, how dreadful!) the days seem to filled with more light, maybe because the trees are shedding leaves and allowing more sun to filter through. Let’s burn these days into our minds, shall we? We might need it for the cold days ahead…

Was thinking the same… it’s been such a nice fall, even our cherry tree is completely confused, coming out with tiny pink blossoms. But the cold is setting in for real now, I guess we’ll all have to go back into our winter slumber. Wonderful pictures as always, Jenna.

Your girls are so adorable in the last two pics. Not that they’re weren’t ever adorable. I’m going to miss this kind of weather a lot. I don’t hate winter necessarily for the cold but just how dark and icy it is.

Nothing like the Fall Trees in Central Park. Soak it up while you can. Good grief, the sun’s already been setting at 4:30 pm here in Seattle, and it’s already in the 30s/40s here. I love the Fall, but I’m thinking Sangria at a beach right about now.

  • Misha November 18, 2011 at 2:38 pm

Yes, indeed. I always do a mental capture of the sun’s rays and the warmth of the day, before there is no sun and the term *warm* becomes laughable.

  • Linda November 18, 2011 at 3:42 pm

Your girls look absolutely adorable and well dressed.

I totally agree and was just thinking about how I’m going to eke out every second of sunshine I can get before the winter settles in. Fall is my favorite season and every single year I am astonished at how quickly it passes. I hope you guys enjoy your weekend!

Beautiful pictures. Every time I look up at these red-orangey leaves, it blows me away that we’re already almost done with fall. Where has the year gone?

  • Lia November 20, 2011 at 6:46 pm

I went to the NJ suburbs today and was surprised to see that all the leaves were gone there, so ugly! Here in Hoboken we still have lots of beauty hanging in there, but to get a glimpse of what is coming made me sad! Love your girl’s outfits!
