time, suspended.

September 1, 2011 |  Category:   life travels

Time feels a bit suspended when you’re on vacation. Responsibilities, every day tasks, and even problems are temporarily on hold while away, but life continues to go on around you, even if your own daily routine is disrupted. We’re sort of developing our own routine here on our yearly visits to Seattle, making sure to hit all our favorite spots, but exploring new ones. It feels like a second home.

    It makes me so happy to see your photos. And to see sunshine in Seattle! My family is there, and I am on the east coast, so I always find myself trying to pack in as much as we can on our yearly visits. I want my two girls to experience so many of my favorite places and things to do there as well. We are actually leaving on friday to be there for a week, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we can still enjoy the fountain at the Seattle center as well. And I completely forgot about the arboretum and walkway at the Montlake cut. Now I have to add that to the list as well. Enjoy your last few days there with your family!

    Are you really good at waiting until no one besides the girls is around to take a picture or is everywhere you’re visiting on the west coast as quiet and crowd-free as it seems? I constantly feel a part of a giant mob here at home and barely comprehend the concept of going on vacation to somewhere that isn’t swarmed. (meaning: this looks wonderful!)

    Your girls really seem to be loving it. I see their bright smiles in the green lush trees! I’m sure they are loving time with the family too. Vacations are great.

    My husband and I are visiting Seattle for the first time next weekend. Do you have any must sees or favorite spots?

    I really enjoy reading your blog and the beautiful photos you post.

    Where was that last photo taken? I think I’ve been there on a trip too.

  • Jenna September 1, 2011 at 7:55 pm

    @aqua6 it’s at the arboretum

  • Jenna September 1, 2011 at 7:57 pm

    @julie have fun next weekend. If you’re going for the first time, then obviously Pike Place Market. Cafe Besalu in ballard has great pastries. Delancey for pizza. Fremont farmer’s market on the weekend, golden gardens or alki beach for the beach right there in the city, particularly at sundown.
