Remember when we used to post recipes? Yeah, me too. Good times. Truth is, after feeling some irrational guilt about not posting recipes for so long and endlessly bugging Mark about coming up with dinners and meals that we can post on the blog, I’ve sort of given up.

I really like the idea of having recipes on here and we did a much better job of that in the past, but to be honest, it’s the last priority on Mark’s list of tasks. It’s also a lot of work to photograph the food. There was maybe a time when I fancied food styling, but I have since admitted to myself that it’s something I don’t really enjoy that much when I’m being really honest with myself. I don’t need to add extra stress to our lives, and for what? I still enjoy taking photos of food, but I have since decided that I’d like to focus my photographic efforts elsewhere, especially since there are so many food photographers out there, particularly here in the city.

So…after saving this image for a few weeks because I thought we could maybe post a recipe for miso eggplant (you can find the stuffed zucchini flowers here), I just present you with a photo. We ate this.

    Haha! That’s hilarious! I have been reading your blog for a short while now and I really like your tone. So many bloggers try to present themselves in the most favourable way and end up, in my opinion trying too hard. I love that you are being honest about having an idea about something you think you ought to do and then say “what the heck it’s not worth it”. Very refreshing indeed! Keep it up!

    half of me thinks this is a hilarious post and that I totally respect your not wanting the stress of posting recipes. the other half of me thinks the miso eggplant looks delicious and really wants the recipe.

    Hi Jenna, I’ve been making my way through Mark’s recipes and find them so tasty and fun to make, plus your food photography is mouth-watering! So I just wanted to let you know your efforts are appreciated and if the time comes when you can start doing it again I’m sure there will be many of us who will be really glad.
