what? more snow?

February 22, 2011 |  Category:   life

That’s right, it snowed last night. Not a whole lot – it was pretty much all melted by evening – but enough to make you curse at the world when you got up Monday morning, particularly when we enjoyed 63 degree temps on Thursday and Friday. Winter’s not over, in case you were wondering.

Speaking of winter, the kids are on vacation for winter break. Never mind that we only had Christmas break 7 weeks ago. Apparently I was in denial about it, seeing as how I didn’t think ahead about childcare. Mark and I are winging it this week with work like we always do. I am, however, jealous of just about everyone who is away for Winter break which includes most of our neighbors and friends. Somehow this makes me feel like a loser. It’s gonna be a long week.

I’m battling a mysterious ailment right now that I’ve had for a few days. It’s more uncomfortable than painful, but it makes me super tired feeling all day. I made a doctor’s appointment for Wednesday. Of course all I can think about is the fact that our new, higher deductible health insurance plan kicks in March 1st and that I might have some kind of terrible illness. *faceplant*

Pretty photos as always (although you probably don’t want to hear that since you guys are probably over winter in the US right now).

Hope the doctor’s appointment goes well and all is resolved.

boo it was a not so pleasant surprise to wake up to this, especially with that 60 degree teaser we had the other day. Spring come back!

My mother is a teacher, and she’s currently on mid-winter break, too. And I always feel like she’s always on break. (There will be another one come April.) I get so jealous at the fact that she gets so many breaks, and makes me miss being a student.

The snow is pretty. Hope you’re having a good week.

Wishing you good health. My first guess would be maybe you are experiencing burnout since you juggle so much. Is there any way you can take off a day to completely rest in the hopes the exhaustion will go away after that? I know it sounds impossible, but maybe that is truly all your body needs. My second thought is thyroid. Does anyone in your family have thyroid issues? My third thought is vheck your blood sugars and iron levels. I’m not a doctor so take this all with a grain of salt. Hope this passes soon!

I love all your photos by the way. You are talented. I check from time to time to see if you sell any of them in your shop, though even if you did I still have to figure out where I would put them.Your autumn photos were some of my favorites!

Manya, it’s a church in our neighborhood. I’m not sure what it’s called.

    Hey Jenna,

Just an FYI – there is a mysterious ailment going around the city right now and most people won’t discuss it. It’s a nasty stomach virus that hits people differently but if you have small kids (like I do) who hang with other small kids, then you probably have or will be exposed. It went try our house – some just feel a headache and nausea while others can’t leave the bathroom….

    Ugh, cooties.

Hi Jenna…your mentioning your health made me think of what I was going through several months ago – vitamin D deficiency. The symptoms seem to be pretty varied, but I definitely saw a change when I was given a prescription for Vitamin D. Looks like I’ll be headed back to the Dr. for another soon.
Anyhow…not sure of exactly what your symptoms are, but I hope you are feeling well again soon.
