Mark found yellow raspberries the other day at the store and snatched them up to bring home to the girls. Mia gobbled them up as she gets excited about eating anything unusual. Claudine looked at them with suspicion, even though she spent a full hour picking and eating raspberries off the bush when we went picking last Fall. I just wanted to take photos of them. They remind me of golden yellow raisins, which never really look that appetizing to me, if you know what I mean. I’m undecided whether or not I think these look as luscious as the more common red variety. At least they match our blog colors. In any case, it sort of signaled the bounty and variety of summer fruits to come. There’s only so many apples, oranges and bananas I can eat.
I am with you on anxiously awaiting the arrival of summer fruit. These looks so pretty though. I think I prefer the jewel-toned red raspberries if I had to choose. But the sheer unusualness (I just made that word up) of these are neat. They remind me of little honeycombs for some reason.
Gosh I’ve never ever seen these before! Do they taste the same as regular raspberries?
yellow cherries are cool too — btw the color in this post is similar to the mac n’ cheese post — reminds me of a week of color in yellow…
it’s so much fun reading about Mia’s adventuresomeness when it comes to food. most kids are NOT like her. They stick to peanut butter jelly sandwiches, milk, apples and bananas, and maybe pasta with butter for dinner. Miss C, however, seems extraordinarily picky. How do you guys make sure she gets all her nutrition?
Becca,
I don’t think they taste as good as the red ones. They’re not really that special.
Patricia,
Yes, it is turning out to be a yellow week! It’s a big trend everywhere it seems.
Joni,
Doctors aren’t concerned about C’s nutrition. She eats fruit, once in a while she’ll munch on a green bean and she’s eat a little more meat. She’s a big big girl. It’s not like she is not growing.
That’s the first thing I thought when I saw the photo, that they match your blog:) Great color.
Wow – I’d never heard of yellow raspberries!
Hi Jenna, I’d like to try one, but the stubble on them gives me the willies a bit. Not as noticeable on the red variety. I think it’s just the close-up of the shot…
Do you have a source for the tea set in the picture from a couple days ago?
Julie, the teaset is Ikea. The best 10 bucks I ever spent. It could have been even cheaper than that too.
Oooohhhh! I’ve never seen yellow raspberries before! These are pretty!
Oh, these are wonderful! I’ve seem them before, but they never looked as good as they do here in your photos!
