I almost forgot to share with you these photos of the frost that was everywhere in Washington. I posted a few images on Instagram last month, but of course took so many more pictures. Apparently this is hoar frost and it happens when ice crystals get deposited as a result of below freezing temps, moisture in the air and contact on surfaces chilled below freezing point (you learn something new everyday). In Washington we had a few very foggy mornings and what was left behind when the fog lifted was this hoar frost. From a far it looks like sparkling snow.
