Last week, our 2017 calendars went on sale (available on our site and on Etsy) and this year’s calendar is a departure from our usual food and NYC calendars. We’ve been playing with flowers all year – in our food, in sketches and watercolors, and also in collages (three from the series I did this summer are below). It only seemed fitting to do a floral calendar this year and it’s always nice to change things up. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed putting this year’s calendar together.
When my start up tech job ended earlier this year, we had to go back to being on a strict budget now that I was freelancing and working on our business again. I have to say, it was nice not having to think twice about fun and frivolous purchases while there was a steady paycheck coming in. But…flowers! I gave myself the allowance of weekly fresh flowers to cheer up the house because sometimes it’s the little things that make all the difference when you’re hunkering down and tightening belts, am I right? And it sparked all sorts of creativity when I had time to play around which I tried to prioritize over the summer. Now that Fall is here, things have gotten quite busy around here and I’m trying to find some time to pick up where I left off before our August vacation. September roared in like a lion and it’s been non-stop. Need to get back to my weekly flowers as well, but for now, this calendar is making me smile.
Oh I love the calendar and the collages! So beautiful 🙂
I agree on the fresh flowers. And thanks for the reminder as I’ve been wanting to buy flowers to cheer up my office space (I work from home), as well 🙂 Sometimes I am just so busy that I completely forget or I can’t bring up the energy to head out to buy fresh flowers.
I’m the same. Too busy or no energy, but it makes all the difference!
It is always a pleasure to read your posts from my work desk, in an old building. A splendid window to the other side of the globe.
Thank you Chai Ling. It’s always so nice to see a comment from you. Hope all is well.
Hello Jenna, I received my calendar. It’s stunning!!! So happy that to witness your creative evolution.
So glad to hear that you love it, Renita! Always appreciate your calendar orders. Thank you again.
